Want To Root Your Moto G? MoDaCo Has You Covered

The Moto G, Motorola‘s first stab at the low-end of the smartphone market, is quickly becoming one of the prime candidates to stuff stockings this Christmas. Clocking in at $199 for the 16GB version and $179 for the 8GB, both of which carry this price off-contract, the Moto G additionally boasts quad-core performance and has had generally impressed reviewers with its speediness so far. As an added bonus, Motorola has said that they are looking at updating the device to Android 4.4 after Christmas, which is still significantly faster than most other manufacturers.

Naturally, though, for those of you who like to tinker and modify your Android devices, you often want to know that the phone can be rooted and unlocked easily before you consider it. Well, the wait is already over as Paul O’Brien, of MoDaCo fame, has already devise a way for you to root your Moto G.

The method does require that your bootloader be unlocked, but O’Brien suggests the process is a snap with fastboot and the instructions on Motorola’s own site.
