Cyber Monday might not officially start until tomorrow, but plenty of online retailers are getting a jump on it tonight. Amazon being one of them. There are plenty of amazingly great deals rolling through Amazon right now, but one of the bigger ones that some of you might like to know about is the deal on the all-new Kindle Fire HD 7-inch 16GB and the Kindle Fire HDX 7-inch.

The Kindle Fire HD 7-inch 16GB model comes in at a stellar $119, down from the normal $169. While the Kindle Fire HDX 7-inch 16GB is coming in at $179, down from the normal $229. For the less techy in the family either of these would make pretty stellar holiday gifts. You don’t have to tell them you saved some cash on Cyber Monday to do it.

As 2013 draws to a close, 2014 brings one important event to the fore for soccer fans all over world: the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. And now that the 32 countries competing in the illustrious soccer tournament have been set, FIFA has released their official Android and iOS apps that will allow you to follow the games as they unfold. The app will also be able to live-stream the World Cup Final Draw event happening in a few days.

As well as the World Cup proceedings, the app allows you to follow up your favourite teams, national or league, in over 197 leagues all over the world and see the news and scores for the teams as they happen.

I’ve had a brief play with the app and I have to say that it’s a pretty slick app with a very impressive UI, almost Google Card UI-like. Judging by the scores on the Play Store so far, most people are appreciating the app already with a rating of 4.3. The FIFA app is absolutely free, so if you’re a soccer fanatic, you don’t have too many reasons not to check the app out today.

Rare Temperature Inversion Fills Grand Canyon with Fog

For more photos from Friday’s fog, explore the #grandcanyon hashtag.

On Friday, 29 November, visitors to the Grand Canyon in Arizona, USA, were greeted with an unlikely surprise as dense, low-hanging fog filled the canyon’s gorges in a rare atmospheric event.

The phenomenon is known as a temperature inversion, where a layer of hot air at higher altitude prevents colder air and fog underneath from rising. Inversions of this magnitude are thought to occur only about once per decade at the Grand Canyon, and visiting Instagrammers documented the event in force.

LG‘s latest flagship smartphone, the LG G2, is one of the latest and greatest phone that you can get right now. Sporting the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 800, 2GB RAM and all the bells and whistles, there’s very little that the G2 is missing compared to its competitors. However, since it was launched with Android 4.2, which was surprising seeing as Android 4.3 was announced just a few weeks before, it’s left a lot of owners and potential buyers wondering when the G2 would be updated to Android 4.3, let alone Android’s latest version, Android 4.4 KitKat.

LG Canada is now saying that the G2 can its update to Android 4.4 to be ready in late in Q1 2014, i.e. March. This of course is only the Canadian schedule, but presumably the rest of the world will have their G2′s updated in and around this time too. Skipping Android 4.3 will hopefully allow the G2 to catch up to the likes of the Note 3 and Nexus 5 who have had the benefit of better Android optimization since their respective launches.

Are you excited about the news of Android 4.4 for LG G2? Let us know in the comments if you are.

A Visit to Disneyland’s Inspiration, Neuschwanstein Castle (Schloss Neuschwanstein)

For more scenes from Neuschwanstein Castle and the Disney structures it inspired, be sure to visit the Neuschwanstein Castle (Schloss Neuschwanstein), Sleeping Beauty’s Castle 睡公主城堡 and Château de la Belle au bois dormant location pages.

Ludwig II, King of Bavaria, Germany, completed the privately-funded construction of Neuschwanstein Castle (Schloss Neuschwanstein) in 1892. Although originally built as a retreat for the King and an homage to composer Richard Wagner, the castle became perhaps the most iconic structure of its kind due to events on the other side of the world 60 years later.

As Disney was designing their first ever theme park, Disneyland (@disneyland), in 1955, they decided to place a castle at the park’s center. The inspiration for the new structure was Neuschwantstein Castle with a few borrowed details from Notre Dame de Paris and the Hospices de Beaune in Paris. In 1992, the company introduced a similar structure at Disneyland Paris and in 2005 built a near replica of the California castle at Hong Kong Disneyland. While more than 1.3 million people visit Neuschwanstein Castle annually, over 16 million guests see the original Sleeping Beauty Castle in Anaheim’s Disneyland Park each year.
